THE BEST OF BOTH FLOORING WORLDS
Marjon has it all. In her home, both our Belakos LVT and Belakos carpet blend in beautifully.
Some time ago, Marjon and her family moved into their stunning new home. On one hand, they preserved several authentic elements, while on the other, they opted for a few fundamental additions. The floors in her daughters' bedrooms and the floor in the dressing room were key parts of this transformation.
A FLOOR SHOULD FEEL AND RADIATE WARMTH
"I wanted different types of flooring throughout the house. For me, functionality, appearance, and warmth are incredibly important. It’s not just about what my partner and I like, but also about the opinion of our two daughters, which was absolutely part of our decision-making process."
In the dressing room, she chose the Suspense carpet in color 36. "A custom-made dark brown wardrobe will be installed here. I wanted a low-maintenance yet warm carpet that would create a beautiful contrast. I ordered several samples from the Belakos website and viewed them at different times of the day. Light plays a crucial role in a space like this, as it can significantly affect the color of the floor."
Marjon carefully considered her options. When asked how she made her final decision, she gave a particularly thoughtful answer: "I wanted a floor that feels good to walk and stand on. When you step out of the shower in the morning and walk to the dressing room in your bathrobe, you don’t necessarily want to wear something on your feet. After all, you already wear shoes most of the day. So, I was looking for a soft yet firm carpet that offers the comfort of a luxury hotel. I let my daughters walk barefoot over the carpet samples, and they chose the softest one."
LAYING A FLOOR IS A SPECIALIZED SKILL
The 'Groter in Wonen' store (www.groterinwonen.nl) installed the carpet in Marjon’s home.
"Let an expert take care of it. That’s my advice to everyone. They work incredibly neatly and think of everything. For us, it was important that it was done properly so that we wouldn't regret trying to do it ourselves."
BELAKOS LVT IN THE BEDROOMS
In the bedrooms, Marjon chose the XL plank from the Attico series, color 820
"In my daughters' bedrooms, I wanted a low-maintenance floor that is easy to keep clean but still exudes warmth. I was looking for an LVT floor with a wood look that felt truly authentic. After all, you don’t necessarily need real wood to achieve that."
The selection process turned out to be quite extensive. After all, Belakos offers a wide range of LVT floors with stunning wood designs.
"I loved that," Marjon says. "Having options means you can truly create your dream floor. I preferred a wood look with a gray natural undertone. Five samples matched that vision perfectly. I ordered them via the Belakos website, and of course, I let the girls choose again."
