It depends on the situation! Dryback LVT floors are glued directly to the subfloor, providing a sleek and durable finish; this is a traditional way of laying. However, this requires a perfectly levelled subfloor and professional installation.
Do you live in a house where the existing floor has to remain, such as a rental property? Then a Rigid Click floor is ideal. Thanks to the integrated (acoustic) subfloor and stable core, this floor can be laid easily and quickly - even over small uneven areas - without glue and extra subfloor. Its durable and water-resistant properties make this versatile floor suitable for any living space.
- Sound insulation:
Rigid Click LVT floors have a built-in sound-absorbing backing, providing better sound insulation. This makes them ideal for flats and rooms where noise reduction is important. These are requirements that may occur in, for example, an Owners' Association. Belakos rigid click LVT floors meet the 10dB standard.
Dryback LVT floors are glued directly to the subfloor, which offers less sound absorption and more risk of impact noise and therefore cannot always be used in areas such as flats.
- Thermal insulation:
Dryback LVT floors are thinner and are glued directly to the subfloor, providing better thermal conductivity and more efficient use of underfloor heating.
Rigid click LVT floors are thicker because of the click connection and the sound-absorbing underlay, resulting in higher thermal resistance and a slower warm-up process.
Both floor types have their own advantages, depending on the specific needs of the room.
